KODA houses feature a distinctive design characterised by clean lines, a modern aesthetic and a minimalistic approach. The design language focuses on simplicity, functionality and the efficient use of space. The neutral colour palettes create a harmonious and calming atmosphere. This is what we also try to pursue when suggesting furnishing options for those who wish to go for the full convenience package. This has been especially appealing to KODA owners who aim at quickly setting up hotels or rental properties – without much hassle and extra time spent on measuring, ordering, waiting for and eventually unpacking the furniture.
While we have selected certain brands and producers (mostly Estonian design) we work with, we don’t have an official brochure but share the options currently available based on your needs and the specific KODA size. One of the design brands we have selected is Oot-Oot.
Oot-Oot is an Estonian design furniture producer specialising in creating contemporary, handcrafted furniture. The company was founded in 2012 and is based in Tallinn, Estonia. Oot-oot focuses on producing high-quality furniture pieces that combine functionality, aesthetics and sustainability: exactly the same principles we prioritise at Kodasema.
Oot-oot pays great attention to detail and craftsmanship, resulting in furniture pieces that are not only visually appealing but also built to last.
The furniture company created by designers Marko Ala and Joonas Torim focuses on soft furniture. Oot-Oot Stuudio operates with a small team of five in the centre of Tallinn. Their strength is definitely the design education background of their whole team. Three designers Marko Ala, Joonas Torim and Mihkel Mölder deal more specifically with furniture design.
We could not agree more with Mihkel Mölder who explains how they recognize good design: “Quality is the basis of everything. Good design includes both functionality and beauty. Often, for example, the problem with beautiful sofas is that they are uncomfortable. Or vice versa – the sofa is comfortable but doesn’t look good. A prerequisite for good design is harmony between good proportions and functionality. A good sofa must be beautiful to look at, comfortable to sit on and durable!”
“Our design process is very long. For example, the VOOG armchair was made in almost half a hundred prototypes, until we reached the perfection of form and design, which conveys our vision. Proportions are very important to us!” The entire product development for the VOOG armchair took a year and a half.
Efficiency is very important in Oot-Oot Studio. It is applied down to the last detail in product development, production and management. All this helps to create a better design and provide high quality while keeping the price as reasonable as possible.
The selection of Oot-Oot Studio includes a number of different sofas, armchairs, sofa beds, bed collection and now also patio furniture. In terms of aesthetics, Oot-Oot furniture embodies a timeless quality that can fit well in various interior styles. The pieces often exhibit a sense of Scandinavian design influence, characterised by a harmonious blend of form and function. This design approach creates furniture that is both practical and visually pleasing, making it suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.
