A new 6 KODA ensemble overlooking the Albis Pass near Zurich ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ

One of our biggest and most exciting project this summer was the 6 KODA mountaintop ensemble in Switzerland near Zurich, where all the houses were situated inside a hairpin bend, which made the transportation and lifting quite a challenge. Not to mention, that the gradient was a huge factor, that had to be solved with extensive earthwork to make it level.

But challenges are something that we at Kodasema excel at and our clients do like to test that to the max sometimes ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The whole project consists of 4 KODA Loft Extended units with narrow side window-door acting as the main entrance and 2 KODA Loft units. All of them overlook Lake Zurich below and offer fantastic views of the whole mountainside.

Eagle eyed KODA fans will have noticed that the pictured KODA Loft Extendeds have gained a an extended (pun intended ๐Ÿ™ƒ) terrace / front porch area, that is also wrapped in a black metal railing (so that one can soak in the terrific mountain views without the danger of falling off).

Also, the exterior cladding on these KODA houses is not our standard painted timber boards but thermally modified wood. Wood treated with heat becomes more durable and stable. Thermal modification makes it perfect for exterior cladding but also decking, saunas and underfloor heating. The wood retains its natural beauty, but over time, its even tone gradually fades into silvery greys, giving the cladding a classic aged look and saving you from the need to repaint it frequently.

But thatโ€™s not all that is new with these KODAs! The floors are also different from whatโ€™s on offer for standard KODAs. These houses feature oiled parquet flooring instead of the usual laminate option. To us, the outcome certainly looks deeper, more interesting and nuanced. What do You think?
