KODA Loft wins “Best small construction” at the Prefab House of the Year 2020 contest

Adding to the list of more than 10 architecture awards, KODA receives one for the timber frame KODA Loft solution. Thank you for the recognition, President Kersti Kaljulaid and Estonian Woodhouse Association.

More and more each year, the Prefab House of the Year Awards assess not only the potential of a design as a single unit, but the possibilities a prefab house offers when set up as a cluster. At Kodasema, we are very supportive of setting up micro-communities in cities hindered by housing crisis. In addition to adding aesthetic and architectural value to the cities, the aim of KODA communities is also to support the wellbeing of people – an important aspect much highlighted by Dr Anne Stenros, the former Head Designer of the City of Helsinki, Finland. Improving the neighbourhood collectively leads to placemaking with maximizing shared values – not only with better urban design, but also paying attention to quality public spaces that contribute to people’s health, happiness, feeling of safety and well-being.
